Marketing is all about getting the right message to the right person at the right time. Sounds simple doesn’t it? Let’s just take a quick moment and look at it:
- The right message. Does that come in the form of a radio ad? A newspaper ad? Maybe a FaceBook ad campaign? Is that message on a billboard? TV? Even if we get the right message figured out we need to be able to distribute it out on the right channels.
- The right person. How do we find that person? Do we use the shotgun approach and throw up a billboard? Shout our message out on the radio? Or do we use a rifle approach and build a very targeted audience on one of the social media channels? How do we reach the right people?
- The right time. Timing is just about everything. You get the right message to the right person – but the timing is wrong – it could be very ineffective. Timing is crucial.
We could write a book on each of the three above. Marketing isn’t all that difficult to understand – but it can be very difficult to implement.
